Revvive/Compare/Matador AI

Matador AI vs Revvive: an honest comparison.

We are Revvive, so read this knowing who wrote it. The short version: these are not competing products. Matador is a full conversational platform for the conversations happening now. Revvive works the leads that stopped talking to you months ago. If you are choosing between them, you are probably solving the wrong question.

Choose Matador AI if
  • Inbound calls, chats, or leads are going unanswered
  • You want sales and service conversations in one platform
  • You need a website chat widget and lead capture
  • Your BDC needs a day-to-day tool to work in
  • You want an established vendor with deep integrations
Choose Revvive if
  • Your inbound is handled but your old database is not
  • You have thousands of leads silent for 90+ days
  • You want outreach triggered by a real reason, per person
  • You would rather pay per car sold than per seat
  • CASL compliance on an old Canadian database matters

Everything below about Matador comes from their public website and may change. We have tried to describe them fairly, including where they are stronger than us. If we have got something wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

Side by side

What each one actually does.

Matador AIRevvive
Core jobA full conversational AI platform: sales and service conversations across calls, texts, emails, social, and web chat. One job only: reactivating dormant leads that have been silent 90+ days and booking them onto the floor.
Primary directionStrongest on conversations coming to you: inbound calls, chats, and lead responses, answered instantly. Plus SMS Broadcast for sending to many customers at once.Triggered outbound to individuals. Watches CRM, DMS, inventory, and market data, then reaches out when something specific changes for one person.
How outreach is chosenBroadcast sends the same campaign to a segment. Efficient for announcements, sales events, and service pushes. Each message is matched to one person and one reason: this VIN in their spec, this lease maturing, this payoff below trade value.
Scope of the productBroad. Sales AI, service AI, call AI, video, lead drivers, automations, OEM apps, and a large integration library.Narrow on purpose. No inbound handling, no service scheduling, no chat widget. It works the pile nobody has hours for.
Who operates itA platform your BDC and service team log into and run day to day.Runs in the background. Drafts are reviewable, replies escalate to your floor. Closer to done-for-you on this one task.
ComplianceHandles TCPA and compliance through Matador Shield.TCPA and A2P 10DLC in the US, plus CASL in Canada. Consent checks, quiet hours, opt-outs, and a full audit log.
Pricing modelPlatform subscription, quoted per store. Not published publicly.Published: 60-day pilot at $300/rooftop/mo + $300 per vehicle sold. $0 if it does not sell at least 1 car in 60 days.
MaturityEstablished vendor with a large dealer base, OEM programs, and years of product depth.Early. Taking on 50 design partners at discounted pricing locked forever. Fewer integrations, more direct access to the people building it.
The part that matters

Broadcast is not the same as a trigger.

This is the distinction most comparisons miss, so it is worth being precise. Matador has SMS Broadcast, which sends a campaign to a segment of your customers at once. That is genuinely useful. If you are running a tent sale, announcing a service special, or pushing a manufacturer incentive, broadcast is the right tool and doing it one message at a time would be absurd.

Revvive works the other direction. It watches for the moment something changes for one specific person, then writes to that person about that thing. A 2022 Civic in the exact trim they asked about last March lands on your lot. Their lease matures in 104 days. Their payoff just dropped below live trade value. Rates moved enough that the payment they walked away from now works.

The reason this matters is conversion. A generic message to a dormant list converts at roughly 0.1%. Trigger-based reactivation on the same list converts at 1 to 4%. That gap is not about the software being smarter, it is about whether the customer has a reason to care on the day you contact them.

Both approaches have a place. If your dormant book is 21,000 records, broadcasting to all of them is a fast way to burn the list and collect opt-outs. Working them by trigger is slower per message and far better per outcome.

Being straight with you

Where Matador is stronger.

Breadth. Matador covers sales and service, inbound calls, web chat, video, and OEM programs. Revvive does one thing and deliberately does not do the rest. If you want one vendor for conversations across the store, that is them, not us.

Maturity. They have been at this longer, with more dealers live, more integrations shipped, and the operational scar tissue that comes with it. We are early and taking on design partners.

Inbound speed. If a lead comes in at 9pm and nobody answers, that is a Matador-shaped problem. Revvive will not help you at all with it.

What we would push back on is the assumption that a platform which handles everything is automatically handling your dormant database well. Broadcast is not the same as working 21,000 records by trigger, and most stores that own a conversational platform still have a graveyard sitting in the CRM.

Common questions

Matador AI vs Revvive FAQ.

What is the difference between Matador AI and Revvive?

Matador AI is a broad conversational AI platform that handles sales and service conversations for dealerships across calls, texts, emails, social, and web chat. Revvive does one narrower job: it monitors your CRM and DMS for buying signals on leads that have gone silent for 90 or more days, then reaches out to those specific people and books them onto the sales floor. They solve different problems and a store can run both.

Is Revvive a replacement for Matador AI?

No. Revvive does not answer inbound calls, run a website chat widget, or schedule service, which are all core Matador functions. If you are looking to replace a full conversational platform, Revvive is not that product. If your inbound is already handled and your dormant database is not, the two are complementary.

Does Matador AI do database reactivation?

Matador includes SMS Broadcast, which sends a campaign to a segment of customers at once. That covers announcements, sales events, and service pushes well. Revvive works differently: instead of one message to many people, it matches an individual lead to an individual reason to reach out, such as a specific VIN arriving that matches their old inquiry, a lease maturing in 90 days, or a payoff dropping below live trade value.

Which is better for a Canadian dealership?

Revvive is built Canada-first and handles CASL alongside TCPA and A2P 10DLC. Matador serves Canadian dealers as well. If CASL consent handling on an old, mixed-consent database is your main concern, that is a specific area Revvive has focused on.

Can you run Matador AI and Revvive at the same time?

Yes. Revvive only touches leads that have been dormant for 90 or more days and sends from your dealership number, so it does not compete with an inbound platform for the same conversations. Most stores evaluating both are trying to fix two different gaps.
